Crystal Lake
Crystal Lake is the body of water that gives a small neighborhood the name Lakeview. It was created artificially somewhere around 1900 to bring business to a hotel built upon a rise just north of this scene. The hotel was long gone by the time I first came to Lakeview, which was only a mile or so from where I lived for 35 years.
I kayaked on this lake, which leads to a winding swamp hundreds and hundreds of times. It never became boring.
